FORREST ISN'T DEAD: From left, Zendé Murdock, Forrest Kleindienst, and Matt Forrester Vassy.

“The Light,” the new single by the Atlanta-based alt/pop trio, Forrest Isn’t Dead, is released today by Madison Records. Atlantans not familiar with the band may recognize the locale where the accompanying video was shot. Director Daniel Oramas and band members Forrest Kleindienst, Matt Forrester Vassy, and Zendé Murdock agreed on the long-standing video rental store, Videodrome, as the perfect location to capture the dreamscape visuals used to recreate the mood and feel of “The Light.”

The group name, Forrest Isn't Dead, represents each member’s feeling alive and their love for life while fighting through the challenges they’ve faced. “I came up with the name ‘Forrest Isn’t Dead’ partly because my name is Forrest and Matt’s middle name is Forrester; but also because I’m still alive through all that life has thrown at me. Music and creating is mostly what has kept me alive”, says Kleindienst, the band’s singer and main songwriter.

While Kleindienst cites The Cure, The Smiths, and Modest Mouse as musical influences, his views on life and love come from growing up with a single mom and limited resources and the challenges that came with it. Escape was skateboarding and music, which also helped him overcome the adversity he faced.

The debut single may be heard here and the video viewed here. It is available through Apple music.

The new single is a taste of what to expect from their upcoming album. The new song is the perfect way to kick off the summer and is sure to make you feel sexy and at your best. The visual to “American Dream” will stream tonight on the Big Ass Telethon, hosted by Wussy & SFQP, at 8 p.m. The visual showcases the "debutante dream pop” sound that Clementine cites to be the basis of LCFP's music.

Lady Clementine is using music to shed light on sex work and, specifically, her experience while dancing at The Cheetah Lounge. Atlanta's LCFP flourished last year with the release of their debut EP, Clementine's Season, followed by a series of music videos for the EP. LCFP received recognition for their music video “Clementine Season x East Coast” from the Macoproject film festival and the Atlanta Film Festival 2020.

The LCFP will soon announce new plans and new ways to connect with them.

The new single can be heard here and streamed on Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud."

Canadian-born and Atlanta-based, Shag cites music of the ’60s and how it helped to frame the struggles of that era — the Civil Rights movement, the political turmoil, and a country steeped in anger over the drawn-out Vietnam War — as inspiration for helping her express her own convictions at a time when this country is starting to face many of the same problems … again. Spreading her message of love through music is more important to her now than ever before, “I just want to be myself for others,” Shag says.

She’s doing exactly that in the studio, as the new single attests. Shag notes, “I've finally found my stride as a songwriter and producer in the studio and my sound is more me than ever.” Listen to “Time To Get Strange” here, or, through your favorite streaming service here."

string(2730) "While the four members of Walden each share the dream of traveling the world playing music, they know such goal is only attained through good songwriting, and hard work. With “Fool’s Gold,” the band’s new single, they won’t be deceived in thinking their dream will become a reality any other way.

Comprised of Richard Becker (vocals/guitar), Jamie de Lange (bass), Eric Hangartner (vocals/piano) and Andrew Mendel (drums) the quartet has remained just that ever since. Since first getting together in the Athens, GA, area, the musicians are drawn together by a common understanding of what’s truly sacred: the band.

"We like to think of 'Fool’s Gold' as the first real Walden song, the band says collectively, in a statement. "From its inception to finish, all four of us played an active part in its creation, and that’s what makes it so special. One night in 2015, as we’re all sitting around, Richard started playing a riff on his acoustic guitar which was in an alternate tuning. It immediately caught our ears, and soon Rew joined in with a slow swing beat on the drums, which was equally as interesting. Inspired by the creativity in the air, Eric started singing and soon many of the vocal melodies came flooding in. Jamie then joined in on the bass and we knew we were on to something special, something that captured a real, raw emotion."

In late 2012, four schoolmates joined together to form something that would become much larger than the sum of its parts. The Athens band quickly captured the college town’s attention, taking them from a debut performance at a Pizza Hut to a headline show at the historic Georgia Theatre just two years later. Since then, Walden has played many major festivals, including Bonnaroo, Sloss Music & Arts Festival, Suwannee Hulaween, and Shaky Knees. Becoming such a strong live acts made it hard for them to capture just the feel they wanted on "Fool's Gold."

“We’ve struggled for years to find the right way to record this song in the studio, because the audience participation is such an integral part of the song. So we decided to record it live with our hometown crowd to perfectly capture the live energy and communal feeling this song creates. Although this song is about an agonizing breakup, it also encapsulates a feeling of togetherness and connection. Over the years, playing 'Fool’s Gold' live has helped establish relationships and connections between us and thousands of people all over the nation. We are thrilled to finally have a tangible recording of the song that we are proud of to show to our fans."

Listen to the new single, recorded last November at Aisle 5, on Spotify here. Also, be sure to watch Walden on YouTube."
