From the venue:

Atlanta-based photographer Joshua Rashaad McFadden’s photos are quiet but powerful. Whether exploring Colorism through portraits of unadorned black women or America’s epic struggle against racism in After Selma, the award-winning artist has made an international name for himself through collections that explore the depths of black identity. His first limited-edition book, Come to Selfhood — a reflection on the notions of black male identity in an age of increasingly high-profile killings by police — is currently available. In a talk sponsored by C4 Atlanta, McFadden will discuss the breadth of his work and the inspiration behind it.
